We were challenged with creating as
much useful outdoor public and semipublic
living space for this project as
possible in a small infill lot. Two towers
flank an elevated garden roof space for
the condominium inhabitants. Special
detailing was developed in conjunction
with the architects and vegetative roof
contractors and specialists to maximize
the diversity of plants and to provide
an optimal outdoor space from the
perspective of a person in the space
and from the views onto the space from
above. All of the planting for the project
is on roof structure. A high degree of
technical coordination was required to
insure the successful integration of the
architecture and landscape on a project
to where the two are virtually seamless.
