Din’s education in architecture and urban planning has led her to understand their impact on communities, individuals, economies, and ecological systems. Her desire to serve the needs of communities through architecture and landscape architecture informs her designs as she strives to create engaging spaces which encourage social interaction and environmental responsibility. Having spent time in Uganda, Din has designed a compound for widows and orphans in northern Uganda, which currently serves a community of displaced women and children. Being the recipient of the American Institute of Architects Stewardson Keefe LeBraun grant has enabled Din to continue her pursuit of serving Uganda as she helps to lead a group of students in the design and construction of a Ugandan primary school.
