Sara Wilson is a co-founder of Siteworks, a landscape architectural design office in Charlottesville, Virginia. She brings to the practice ten years of experience in the design of a wide range of projects from national parks to private gardens; her professional strengths include stormwater mitigation and planting design. Recent projects include preparing a master plan for a common area of a Charlottesville residential development and designing several residential gardens in Virginia.
Prior to founding Siteworks, Ms. Wilson worked as the assistant to the Landscape Architect for the University of Virginia; her work included designing several projects for University grounds as well as contributing to the planning and implementation of the University’s stormwater master plan, an innovative approach to stormwater management. Earlier professional experience with DHM and Wenk Associates, both private landscape architecture firms in Denver, Colorado, included project design on a stormwater demonstration project for the Environmental Center of the Rockies, the preparation of design guidelines for historic US Route 40 though Denver and a masterplan for employee housing at Rocky Mountain National Park.
